10/16 - Texas (Still)Still in Texas -- San Angelo.
Texans
aren't exaggerating when they tell you how large their state is. What
they don't tell you is how flat and desolate it is (at least Western
Texas). Mile after mile of just dust and horizon. Occasionally a very
small hill. Nothing very green this time of year. The tallest plant we
saw were the numerous cotton fields and mesquite trees along the way. I
think maybe the oil wells were higher than anything else.
Seems as if we're never going to get through this state. Our butts are getting increasingly impatient with the lonely miles.
