Henry Bianchini works as a sculptor, painter, and printer. He was
owner of L'OEuvre Fine Art Gallery (1992-1994) in Hilo, Hawaii. His work
has been featured in solo exhibitions, including: "Form As Meaning,"
East Hawaii Cultural Center (1992): "Involuntary Metaphors," Maya
Gallery, Kamuela (1990) "The Interplay of Form," Volcano Art Center
(1986). Numerous Group Shows, both invitational and juried, 1992 through
present. Commissions include: Kaiser Permanente Hospital, Moanalua Valley,
Oahu, "Ho'okamalani," bronze, 1985, Kalakaua Park, Hilo, "King
David Kalakaua," bronze, 1988, Grand Wailea Resort & Spa, Wailea,
Maui, "The Dance," bronze, 1991, Entrance Gate, McCully Farms,
Hamakua, Hawaii. Theatre set designs include many UHH productions, such
as "Fiddler on the Roof" (1983). He received an Energy Extension
Service Geothermal Grant (1988-89) from the State of Hawaii. He has been
teaching with Na Pua No'eau (1991-94), Consultant for East Hawaii Cultural
Center, Hilo, Taught Carving at Keaau School and Malamalama School, Keaau.
About his work, Henry states: "My work is always moving toward an inner
order and a structure within a theme. For the past twenty years I have pursued
many materials and methods. Most recently I have begun to combine these
experiences -- juxtaposing materials along with the use of color, can give
some surprising results."
